Walking with God daily

I woke one morning and was dismayed by what greeted me; ungratefulness. Shoot! I am late for my class, AGAIN! I set the alarm though, what happened? If I shower for 2 minutes then I just might make it, I thought. Then I remembered we do not have hot water and its winter. It is not exactly the season to shower with cold water this early in the morning. Okay now I was frustrated. I was frustrated at how late I was and even the mere thought of knowing I might not get a good seat in a class that does not have enough room to swing a cat. Man was I frustrated. And if that wasn’t enough, there was a possibility of a surprise quiz so there was no way I could miss class.
All this time, I did not say one word to God. I didn’t thank Him for this day He has blessed me with or better yet, ask for His peace. Why haven’t I? At that moment, I am of the mindset that I have the right to this day and that it is not a gift. In fact, I felt like I was the victim. I felt like nothing was going my way and it upset me. In the turmoil of me attempting to get ready in less than 2 minutes, God spoke to me. He told me to take a deep breath. Up until that moment, the only thing that left my lips was “Argh”.
This made me think. Many at times we say we trust God and are leaning unto Him for guidance, but do we really? Do we simply offer Him our lip service? We try to get through life by our own strength and according to our plans. We lead ourselves while making ourselves believe that God is leading us so much so that when things don’t go according to the way we planned, we get mad. The worst part is we get mad at God. We start saying that He’s unfaithful.
Jeremiah 29:11 says that ‘For I know the plans and thoughts I have for you’, says the Lord, ’plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope’.  Do you believe it? Do you believe it enough to trust in Him? Admonish yourself with this truth and you will come to the realization where you would prefer to have God involved in EVERYTHING you do and not just what you think God can handle. Remember that His powers are limitless. He is Sovereign (possessing supreme or ultimate power) over all.
Walking with God does not mean that you consider His statutes only when you feel like it. In fact, it means dying to oneself and your desires. Walking with God means taking God guided steps that are directed by His Word and the Holy Spirit. Wisdom and knowledge come from God (Proverbs 2:7). Knowledge is the information obtained and to have wisdom is knowing what to do with this knowledge. These are things that we can only obtain from God and what we need to get through life because who have a lack of knowledge are destroyed.

At that moment, I prayed for His peace to guard my heart and my understanding. I believed in Him for my peace and that is what I received. Even though I was extremely late, I decided that I wouldn’t allow that frustration to affect the rest of my day. I decided that God will lead me through the rest of the day even though I had a terrible start to it.
I also pray that you get a revelation of God's grace. We are not alive today because we deserve it, rather because of His undeserved mercy and kindness. And when you start realizing this truth, you will use every moment of your life to thank Him for this wonderful GIFT OF LIFE.

Source of Happiness 🐦

I remember that day very clearly. Surrounded by so many people and yet, felt so alone. I knew there was so much noise as my friends were engaging in conversations in an attempt to cheer me up but somehow, I could not hear a thing. I laughed here and there but at most instances, had no idea what the joke was about. I was deep in my thoughts. Now that I think about it, I cannot even believe how consumed I was in my own thoughts. I felt suffocated. Now imagine feeling alone and suffocated. AT THE SAME TIME! As I sat there, with mixed emotions (so much joy from the presence of my loving, 'funny' friends together with the pain of just having lost a loved one) and in my own thoughts. I remember feeling completely numb and as though I am sleeping when infact, I was wide awake. I was so appalled by what suddenly came out of my mouth. It was not loud enough for everyone to hear, but I heard it. I asked God, 'Okay, what now? What am I supposed to do with myself now? What were YOU th...

Yes you are beautiful but WHAT ELSE?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say. I agree with this statement to an extent and I will tell you why. I believe that beauty can be categorized; i) outward and ii) inward beauty. For me, the former has to do with a person's appearance whereas the latter has to do with a person's heart. I apply the phrase (Beauty is in the eye of the beholder) when I talk about outward beauty because I think that each person's perception of what is beautiful differs. The person who I deem to be the most beautiful I have ever seen may be the ugliest to the next person. I do not think this phrase applies to matters of the heart. If your heart is beautiful then any person who has taken the time to get to know you will notice it. Unfortunately for us, society only considers outward beauty. To my fellow young lady or gentleman, which is of utmost importance to you? Your appearance or your heart? Are you doing whatever it is that you are doing simply to satisfy society or yourself?...

Q: What is my name and what does it mean? A: My name is Leena Franscisco. I wasn’t really sure about the meaning of Leena so I had to look it up and I found that it means a ‘divine illumination’. How cool is that? My middle name is Pombili, which is in my native language-Oshiwambo, and it can be translated as ‘being at peace’. I used to hate the name Pombili though because I have a male cousin with the exact same name and I just felt like it was a name for boys, lol.   Q: Where am I from? A: I was born and raised in Tsumeb, Namibia. Tsumeb is such a beautiful town. If you have never been there please make time to come check it out.   Q: What are...
